Happy New Year Y’all!

What a busy season! We finally finished up our 12 days of Christmas Giveaway! I was slow to get winners posted because all the busyness had caught up with me! Turning 73, I think I’ve slowed a bit more! But so thankful for the years God has given me! Almost 25 now that I thought I wouldn’t see! But back to the giveaway, I want to say a super special THANK YOU to all our donors! All these small businesses who donated to our awesome event! What is wovenFuse2?

2019 started off as my lowest point in my business due to some issues created by others. But I trusted in God to keep me going and He never fails me! 2020 is starting out on a much higher, happier note! So looking forward to my new product, wovenFuse2! I get tons of messages, emails, asking difference between my 2 products. So I’m posting again a little something on differences of all my products. I believe these products all give the very best, professional finish and that’s why i sell them. Lots of you are waiting for wf2, but they all have their own special purpose/use.
I plan to stock both.

Here’s a rundown of all my products

WovenFuse original is a woven, cotton, interfacing. It stabilizes your fabrics and gives a lil structure with super drape. It is recommended to apply it first before any other interfacing. It will help prevent wrinkling/dimpling nonwovens can cause if not covered with a woven first. It’s made of cloth, therefore keeps a drape like cloth, whereas nonwovens are actually paper and give a paper drape.

WovenFuse2 Difference

Slightly more body:denser than original WovenFuse, with a different glue which covers one side completely! Lauren Mormino described it like a half layer of Decovil light. It’s 46” wide!

Decovil is non woven. Its purpose is to give more body. Decovil gives a leather-like handle. I only sell these two items because I know they give the best professional results. Decovil light is used in place of foam, 809, and fusible fleece. But those interfacings do have a use at times. Decovil heavy is used for bag bottoms in place of peltex. Decovil does not retain wrinkles like peltex does. Also use it for wallets, flaps, wherever you want more structure. Keep Decovil out of seam allowance and with Decovil heavy, insert and fuse after turning whenever possible. WovenFuse does not need moisture for fusing. Decovil does. Use pressing cloth over Decovil. And both can be fused in heat press. My latest product is WovenFuse2. Another woven, but more body than WovenFuse original. Decovil will give your bags the most professional results ever!

And....I have another product I’ve been working for a couple years to find a supplier for! It’s in production only for me to test it to see if it meets my standards! I’m so excited! Long time coming but if it pans out, it will be a benefit to all of us! So excited for what this New Year will bring to Barb’s Bags and all my group members and customers!

SEW A LONGS

I’ve been happy to support Garth Torgeson and his live videos in my group! He’s working towards building his youtube channel so he has a place to store/share them. I’m sure it’s to help his business, but we get to reap the benefits as he teaches leather sewing! I’ve got a ton of leather but haven’t put it to use! I’m hoping to learn lots more from Garth as he teaches as he sews, and he’s more than happy to answer questions, or demonstrate different techniques! Hop over to his YouTube channel and follow him here! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4Zn_SDTdg8RmX2FSIVdigg

Also, very thankful Christi Lee will continue with her sew-a-longs! In 2019, Christi sewed every Wednesday evening. Just once a week so it’s easy to keep up with her. If her timing isn’t best for you, drop her a message in group to let her know what times would be better, or any patterns you’d like her to lead making! Learn bags and leather in Barb’s Bags from our super sewing buddies Garth and Christi!

We are very fortunate to have them both in our group!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

As we begin a new year, a new chapter of our lives, I wonder what your priorities are for change in this new year? How can we make 2020 a better year than previous? Are we going to float through life without making a difference? Just celebrated my 73rd birthday and wonder where the years have gone! Time just seems to go by faster and faster and, before you know it, you’re 73! This year, my desire is .... at the end of each day, I hope I put a smile on God’s face when he thinks of me by my actions and my words.

Happy new year to all of my friends, customers, and family! May those who are hurting...hurt less. Those who can give...give more. Those who can sew...sew more. Project finishing some of your ufo’s! Start working on Christmas gifts in January for Christmas 2020! Open your hearts to helping someone along the way. Share more in my group! Always be kind and make it your best year yet! And let’s keep sewing! Don’t forget your wovenFuse!

HAPPY NEW YEAR Y’ALL!
