Description

WovenFuse®

100% cotton woven interfacing, 45” wide. Sold in 7 yd package, or bulk of 37 yds.

Fusing:

  1. Temperature Med High – Dry Heat
  2. Pressure: 2 bar
  3. Time 10-12 sec

If fusing temperature is too high, can cause bubbling

Use woven first, in conjunction with any other interfacings 

Woven interfacing – your fabric should still look, feel and move like fabric, albeit a thicker one.  A typical woven interfacing may take your quilting-weight cotton up to more the feel of a decor weight fabric.  But it still feels like fabric.

You can also get a knit interfacing, called tricot, which can be used on stretch fabrics and may be used to prevent or restrict stretch in areas of the garment to prolong life and shape.

Non-woven interfacing – no grain line, like a felt or fleece.  Can range from thin and wispy, through crisp and papery, through to stiff almost like card, or even lofty like a fleece or foam.

Pros and cons – the woven can be expensive and is typically only available in a much smaller range of weights, properties and thicknesses.  It leaves your fabric feeling and behaving like fabric and usually fuses well without the wrinkles you can sometimes get from a non-woven.

The non-woven is available is a MUCH wider range and is much more affordable, and more easily available.  However it can wrinkle or crease more easily.  It can also tear (like paper) and makes the fabric feel less like fabric – which can be a plus depending on your project.

    I love wovenfuse! It fuses easily and doesn’t wrinkle! I often use it by itself on quilting cotton for linings and card slots, etc. and it is so much more economical that sf101!

    I had always used Pellon 101 until about a year ago when I first bought wovenFuse. It’s a much better quality and you get much more for your money. We were doing a project for Vacation Bible School and our church and I ordered this for our project. It made such a difference in the quality of the pillows that the kids were making.

    WovenFuse is by far, the best fusible interfacing I have EVER used. It fuses so quickly and does not fall off. This fusing has me spoiled already. I love the weight of WovenFuse and how well it fuses. In my opinion, it cannot be beat. I don’t think you could find a better interfacing, any where! I truly mean this. I am speaking from personal experience. As long as Barbara Edwards continues to make this available to us, I will not be using anything else! And that’s the truth! AND it is twice the width of any I have ever found! Compare the price, it is unbeatable! <3

    I wondered how much better than SF101 this product could be, so ordered it, used it and immediately bagged up my SF101 which was given to a local thrift shop. WovenFuse fuses readily and stays fused to for a bag that holds its shape. SF101 was not as dependable as it could delaminate causing me headaches. Excellent, economical product.

    I don’t know how I’ve sewn for 50+ years with out WovennFuse!It is fantastic! I use it before adding any other interfacing It keeps the fabric smooth and crease free!

    I bought this after many months of reading rave reviews in my bagmaking groups. The difference between this and the comparable SF101 is night and day. Wovenfuse is thicker, adheres better, stays secure during sewing and after months of use. You also get twice as much per yard for less than the competitor. I’ll never go back as long as this remains an option. I am sold!

    Soooo happy I found out about Barb’s bags I started sewing about a year ago and always used SF101 but for 15 yards at only 20″ wide it’s easily $50+ depending where you go and I got wovenfuse at 7 yards and 40″ wide for less than $30 literally the same amount of interfacing at a good quality but at a very drastic price difference. I’ll never go back to SF101 wovenfuse for life ! Lol

    WovenFuse is far superior to the competition. It literally fuses in 6 seconds, does not wrinkle, and maintains its shape. It may be a bit more expense to order 7 yds, but it’s actually the same price as SF101 per inch at Joanns IF you have a huge coupon, and the quality is so much better. I won’t go back! Well, I ran out and decided to try this product that I had seen people raving about on Facebook, so I purchased wovenfuse! For me, it’s cheaper and just a better product all the way around.     wovenFuse is such a fantastic product. It’s great value per square inch. The width allows for more control over frugal cutting, and therefore less waste. It fuses beautifully and is slightly thicker than sf101. I use it for many applications, but most often I use it for wallets, totes, bags, etc.
    I also want to mention that I emailed a question recently and Barb replied immediately to me (despite it being on a weekend). She’s super helpful! Great project and owner!

    I had tried 101 before this didn’t care for it, took the plunge and bought a grab bag of 6-7yards of this(I don’t see this option anymore on the site) hoping it would work also bought some decovil light and heavy. Now keep in mind this is more affordable per yard than other interfacing in the market but for someone the lost their job this was a sacrifice and a risk if it didn’t work. Well I’m happy to say it did! I’m still learning how to fuse it to different textiles since in my case it doesn’t fuse as readily as the 101. Thanks for the great product!

I recently tried some woven interfacing from somewhere else because I was ordering other things. I was very disappointed. I had to use double to get close to the same as wovenfuse.     Just received my first order of woven fuse today it was packaged so nicely with a sample of Decovil light and heavy can’t wait to try out.I use to use pellon 101 but never again this is such a huge savings.I still have a little bit of pellon 101 but it’s going in the closet.     The main reason why woven fuse sold me from sf101? It’s wider!
    Other interfacing are only 20″ wide. So you get sooo much waste. Too big to throw away and too small to use on anything.

    I absolutely love Wovenfuse! I thought nothing could pierce the love I had for SF 101 but one day I heard about Wovenfuse and I was just about to order more Sewfuse, which is great too! But once I started using Wovenfuse on my bags I saw the difference! First of all, I can fuse Wovenfuse on any fabric multiple times and it adheres! Not with SF101. Second, Wovenfuse has just enough body for both heavy and light fabrics! I can make my bags with 1 interfacing now. I am going through my first 7 yards of Wovenfuse pretty fast and getting my 2nd order next week. This stuff is amazing!
